Weaving collaboration: Exploring new possibilities in Christchurch

Recently we were invited to speak at the Shirley Papanui Community leadership day hosted by Christchurch City Council. The unique range of grass roots volunteer leaders, NGO leaders and the CCC Strengthening Community staff and Community Board members was brilliant – something rarely seen around the cityIt was a fantastic day, particularly the willingness of the 80 leaders to interact and dialogue about critically important issues like strategic collaboration across the city.

The slides for each of the two sessions are available below;

1)    Weaving collaboration: Exploring new possibilities in Christchurch

Weaving collaboration: Exploring new possibilities in post-quake Canterbury from Chris Jansen

2)    Re-defining leadership post quake: Self organising leaders embedded in communities.

More information about the content of the first session is available on the www.ideacreation.org blog.  We also received some fantastic feedback including this from Christine Lane, the CCC staff member who organised the day.

“I am writing on behalf of the Shirley Papanui Community Board to thank you for generously bringing your wealth of personal experience and expertise to share with our Wards Community leaders. Your presence ensured the Shirley Papanui 2014 Leadership Day was a success. Feedback from those who attended has been overwhelmingly positive with a feeling of validation in knowing that they are on the right path in the Service delivery and Community Development principles that they practice.All participants have expressed the importance of such days where Community Development agencies can come together and network together as a whole. Attendees have stated in their feedback that the information that you shared in the event was extremely relevant given the current environment in Christchurch’s community sector. Your passion for community really showed through and the leaders at Leadership Day clearly took that on board given the feedback. Again on behalf of the Shirley Papanui Community Board thank you for your commitment to the sector and the inspiring way that you addressed our community leaders. We look forward to working with you in the future, thank you once again
