Tim Pidsley… friend, colleague, mentor, inspiration.

Our very close friend and co-director of Leadership Lab Tim Pidsley died suddenly on Sunday 19th February.  Between February 13-18th Tim rode the 12 stage BDO Wellington to Auckland Cycle Challenge 2017.  He contacted us on Saturday night to say that he was finished, home, very satisfied and half joked that he felt like he could ride again tomorrow.  When he missed a meeting with Anna, Peter and Chris on Monday 20th we went around to his house and found him in his bed where he had died peacefully in the night.

Many of you have communicated your shock and sadness in all sorts of ways and we and Tim’s UK and Canada based family are so grateful.  This is an incredibly hard experience for all of us who loved and appreciated Tim as a friend and colleague.  It has been really great to have some close friends join us in person over this time and we also appreciate all the emails, cards, texts, messages, flowers that we have received.

Thanks too to those who were able to join us at Tim’s memorial on March 11th where some of Tim’s  family and friends joined us to share the memories we have of Tim and how he influenced us.

There is much more for us to share and reflect on about Tim and the influence and impact he has had in our lives.  For now, we are taking one step at a time, still deeply shocked and disbelieving on one hand, and on the other savouring the vivid memories we have of Tim.

Tim’s family have set up a tribute website which we would encourage you to add a reflection too.

Deep thanks

Anna Russell, Chris Jansen and Peter Cammock
