Kāhui Ako: Communities of Learning – Change management support

Since 2017 Leadership Lab has engaged by the Ministry of Education to support Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako with support with change management.  A Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako is a group of education and training providers that form around children and young people’s learning pathways, and work together to help them achieve their full potential.  We are currently engaged with over 50 Kāhui Ako from the Auckland, Waikato, Rotorua, Opotoki, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Otago, Southland and Christchurch areas. Leadership Lab’s approach is outlined in this summary sheet

Ministry of Education – Change management support for Kāhui Ako

Our team supports the lead principals and other leaders in a Kāhui Ako in the the following areas;

  1. organisational culture (relational trust, clear agreed vision and purpose, change readiness/positive mindsets and collective leadership)
  2. systems (agreed roles and expectations for all partners, effective communication, operating protocols and decision making processes, clear strategy and action plan)

This Leadership Lab Change Managment Overview gives a brief overview of our approach and the Kāhui Ako Foundations – A change management planning tool is a framework that we have developed with MOE and other providers and is used by Kāhui Ako as a self audit tool.
